A Short History of Hummdrumm Records
Ronny Anderson, originally from South Africa, moved to London in 1985, disillusioned by the political situation in his home country. With a background in writing lyrics and poetry, Ronny embarked on a career in the UK record industry, beginning as an international licensing manager at PRT/PYE Records. He managed the licensing of iconic artists like The Kinks, Sandie Shaw, Petula Clark, and The Searchers, as well as contemporary artists such as David Knopfler.

In July 1988, Ronny joined the Canadian independent label Brouhaha as their A&R Manager, where he worked with producer Colin Thurston and engineer Martin Aelred Colgan. Together, they signed and produced several acts, including the electronica band Westwon, Dennis Seaton (formerly of Musical Youth), Philip Japp, and the UK Eurovision Entry Live Report in 1989, which charted in the UK and finished second in the Eurovision contest.

Ronny left Brouhaha in 1990 to establish his own label, Hummdrumm Records, under his distribution company Discovery Sounds. The label's first signing was the independent act UK TAG, which released the vinyl EP "Amateurs" and the CD single "Examine Me Roughly."
In 1994, Ronny joined Mo’s Music Machine, the UK’s largest dance distributor, where he led the International Licensing and Export division. He continued to work in the UK music industry until 2008, forming his own record label and music publishing companies while developing and signing new artists.
Hummdrumm Records remained dormant until 2014, when it signed and released the heavy metal band Everafter. Since then, the label has signed and developed various acts, including The Indigo Rising, Toucan, and Martin Aelred Colgan, continuing its legacy of diverse musical contributions.
